There's gonna be some rockin'

This August I'm going to travel down to California and meet up with Becky and Brian. To say I'm excited is an understatement. I keep thinking about how much fun this trip is going to be and how much I've missed hanging out with the the both of them.

Recently I've realized I haven't been taking as many pictures as I normally do. So to alleviate that I took some of the new place I'm living at and of my roommates.

The new house.

My room. Moving was a little difficult because I had to put a whole apartment into one room. It works but I'll admit it is a little cramped.

So there's the living situation. But now its back to work (by which I mean school work).

CARRY ON MY WAYWARD SON!

There have been new developments in my nerding around time on the World of Warcraft. When I started playing I joined forces with my friend Andrew on the Earthen Ring Server under the name of Twiig. A guild formed, named the Templars of the Thrones and for awhile we had fun. Andrew stopped playing and the guild dissolved. The entire time Brian was trying to get me to play on the Bloodscalp server so I made a new character. At the time I felt that the trolls had a very strong Aztec/Meso-American influence so I named my troll Quetzalcoatl. From that day on I enjoyed being part of the horde under the guild called the Brain Spawn. The name came from a Futurama episode. I liked the guild because it was small and everyone got to know each other. Unfortunately we weren't able to do a lot of the larger content of the game (that required 20-40 people). So we joined forces with the Warriors of Death. For awhile it went very well. I enjoyed being a part of the large guild, honestly we had about 200 people or thereabouts. At one point we even had two Molten Core runs going on (2 groups of 40 people). For reasons I still don't understand that guild started to fall apart. Initially a large group of people left for better raiding or something. Then the dynamics of the group started to change. Raids started to become a chore and people started to come and go, get tired with the game, and eventually the biggest leaders started to disappear after they lost interest completely. Finally, the original lead of the Brain Spawn, Shisai, took the helm of the Warriors of Death. For a little while it seemed that we would reform and the Warriors would live on. Unfortunately it didn't work out. Shisai had some new real life responsibilities that would conflict with being the guild leader and he left. The rest of the old Brain Spawn crew left as well.

The Brain Spawn reformed and the Warriors of Death seemed to scatter into the wind. I was sad to see it go because I had come to enjoy being with the hunters of the guild a great deal. However I am much happier being with the old Brain Spawn crew (who, by the way, had almost taken over control of the Warriors of Death anyways, in terms of leadership). With the reformation a few people joined up with us and now we're having much more fun than before. We raided Zul Gurub Saturday morning missing 3 people and including about 5 people who had never been in there before and we still did better than most raids that I had been on (to Tony the Tiger boss but didn't pass him, we'll get him next time).

Now for the funny bits:
Icon, an Aussie who has been nothing short of awesome anytime I see his character or hear him on vent has started making some artwork for the guild:

The first picture Icon thought of Ctulu and combined it with the idea of Ctulu getting up one day and deciding to wear Armani.

This picture is of my friend Brian's character Aracon... riding a whale.

That he keeps in a cage.

Who dreams of release someday.

Here is the other picture involving out leader Shisai killing a night elf with tenticles coming out of her mouth!

And another mockup of the logo.

I love the Brain Spawn. We can potentially join forces periodically with Team Sportcoat, another post Warriors of Death guild run by Kelshaw, so we can run larger instances. Who knows, maybe our forces combined will be able to take AQ40, Naxxramas, Molten Core, and Blackwing Lair?

I don't know and I don't care, I'm just happy to be with friends again.
