Semester 5 - Week 1

Today ends the first week of Semester 5. Monday was Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which we had off. I also took it upon myself to do something that is somewhat drastic for me. I deleted all the games off my computer. This was pretty hard to do considering that the World of Warcraft's expansion: the Burning Crusade open the next day and I had pre-paid for a collector's edition.

Why would I do such a thing?

Last semester I played more often than I should have- cutting into school time, sleep time, and spending energy in other places. On Monday the 15th I really was ashamed of myself for not possessing the self-control necessary to appropriately manage my time. Will this decision help me focus on school and keeping a schedule? That is the plan. I also went as far as saving all of my online distractions (mainly online comics) into a folder and putting it else-where. Now the Internet is e-mail, research, and this journal.

Now that it is Friday I have all the course syllibi and thus all the necessary dates to input into my schedule. I could be lazy and sit around for the rest of the day- isn't that what the weekend is for? Yet that would be the old habit talking to me.
I've got my goals for this semester and I'm going to keep them:

Let's see how I do.

Some people need more/less than 7 hours of sleep. So I recommend getting up at 6am every day but don't make yourself go to bed at 11, just go to sleep whenever you get tired and pretty soon you'll start to get tired at the right time. Otherwise you will be laying in bed, not sleeping, for long time.

The problem right now is that I still feel like I am on the east coast so 6AM feels like 4AM sometimes and 10PM feels like midnight. I wanted to force myself into time frame- but I'll see how well that works.
